I am a scholar of nineteenth- and twentieth-century American art. Currently, I'm researching a project entitled "Unsettling Memory: Public Monuments to the Slave Past in the United States." This project examines late twentieth-century monuments in the South, Midwest, and Northeast dedicated to memorializing the slave past. From the beginning, I have thought of this project as something more than a "book." I'm interested in creating an archive of the project that would include documents, photographs, videos, and maps through the open-source platform omeka with neatline. In its final iteration, I plan to use a non-linear publishing platform such as Scalar. Finally, I'm interested in the ways that I can access reception through community crowdsourcing within the context of my overall project. And I've never played Galaga, only PacMan!
